The roundtable series is based around dialogue, respect, and authenticity. We strive to engage in intellectual, heart-felt dialogue about today's most pressing religious and spiritual issues.

For the roundtable sessions we go through a four-part dialogue series, using one method a week. Not only does this help us find direction, but it allows space for all ideas to be presented in an equal manner. This method has been adapted from "Teaching Religious Education" by Julian Stern, Continuum Press, 2006.

Dialogue to involve 4 realms:

The dialogue of life: getting to know each other, building friendship. What do you like doing in your spare time? What are you especially good at? This kind of dialogue may include reference to all kinds of everyday activities, as well as to religion.
The dialogue of experience: finding out about each other’s practices. Occasions and places, comparing experiences. How do you welcome a new baby into your family or community? What are the times of year special for you and how do you celebrate? How do you pray? What do you think happens when we die?
The dialogue of action: debating moral issues, exploring issues of justice and social concern. Is it ever OK to kill a living creature?
Questions of faith, i.e. ‘theological’ dialogue: reflecting on the ‘big’ questions and expressing views. Comparing different viewpoints, such as do you believe in angels and if so what do they do?

TBA - However, this is the place where you get to choose what we talk about! Dialogue works us through a number of issues - religious, spiritual, and inbetween - impacting our world. Last year we discussed love, spirituality & sexuality, waging peace, social justice, and how to be a world citizen - all from the lenses of people of faith.
